Writing assistant.
Meet R. Vygotsky. Vygotsky is a robot writing assistant to give you feedback and advice on how to improve your writing.
It will ask you what aspect of writing you want feedback on. You then upload your writing (paste it into the text box) and it will give you feedback on that aspect.
You can choose from
- Vocabulary – range and accuracy: Do you use a wide range of vocabulary to express your ideas? Do you use words and phrases accurately to communicate your exact meaning, or do you use more general, everyday vocabulary?
- Grammar – range and accuracy: Do you use a wide range of grammar? Do you use simple grammar often? Do you make mistakes? Do you mistakes make it difficult to understand you?
- Organisation and logic: How well-organised are your ideas? Is it easy to follow them?
- Task response: How well did you answer the question? Do you miss important parts of the task? Do you develop your answers properly?
Vygotsky will not tell you the correct grammar, words or phrases to use straight away. Instead, it will show you the sentence where there is a problem and ask you if you can suggest an improvement. If you cannot find the problem, it will then explain how to improve your writing. This is to try to get you to think about your language and to develop your editing and self-correction skills.
Vygotsky can answer questions, so if you don’t understand, ask it to rephrase and it will try in a different way. If you don’t understand something, ask it to explain.
